Our hunts unfold in prime waterfowl migration patterns. Large decoy spreads with dynamic motion are our specialty, but we adapt to dry-field setups as duck patterns shift.
At Flat Rock Bottoms, all-day hunts are the norm, while on occasion large groups and corporate outings reserve the entire season. We focus on over-water mallard hunting on our private, intensively managed properties, featuring the largest flooded prairie, unique blend of wetlands, ponds and open fields in Southeast Kansas.
DRESS FOR THE OCCASSION
- Duck Hunting Season: Starts during the first week of November and extends through January (check exact dates here).
- Dress: The conditions for duck hunting are wet and cold, dress accordingly.
LODGING AND MEALS
- Local Lodging: A variety of local lodging accommodations are available. Please visit HERE for availability.
- Meals and Snacks: An abundance of local restaurants are available depending on your preference. During your hunt, an ice chest is recommended for snacks and drinks, as well as another ice chest for waterfowl.
HOW TO MY WATERFOWL?
- Retrievers: Trained retrievers (not supplied) are encouraged for hunting groups.
- Water Retrievals: As most of our flooded lands and ponds are accessible, waders, bibs and other waterproof apparel are encourage.

Our waterfowl hunting blinds cater to different needs, from spacious pit blinds to prime open ground settings which blend perfectly into the surroundings. We manage these spots year-round exclusively for waterfowl, investing time and effort to create ideal habitats for Mallards. This dedication is reflected in our pricing.
HUNTING PACKAGE DETAILS
- At the time of reservation, a 50% deposit is required.
- The balance due on or before October 1st or your deposits and dates will be forfeited. All forms of payment accepted.
- Cancellations forfeit deposits.
Includes professional guide services for a half-day duck hunts or until limits achieved.
Gratuities should be paid to guides after hunt. - Bird processing available ($10/bird).
